Visually stunning, sensitively performed, exquisitely made love story about two self-destructive teenagers, petrol-sniffing Samson and the feisty Delilah, who live in a ramshackle village on a remote Aboriginal reserve. The teenagers communicate non-verbally, but deeply expressively, and it’s clear they rely on, and need, each other to get by particularly once they flee to Alice Springs and set up home under a bridge with a kindly alcoholic. The sparse storytelling – long scenes of quiet observation are interrupted by a few, focused events -has a brutal narrative simplicity and the texture of a parable. This tender, beguiling, near-silent portrait gives a rare, authentic glimpse into life on the edge of destitution with a ray of hope at the end of a difficult journey.
Hanes teimladwy am ddau ifanc o’r gymuned frodorol yn Awstralia, cymdeithas lle nad oes angen defnyddio geiriau.
