This is a powerful, up-beat film about love under pressure with the suffocating, all-pervasive influence of the occupation ever present in the background. Newly wed Kamar’s world is thrown into disarray when Israeli settlers’ seize their land and her husband is imprisoned. She tries to balance her own desires with her duties as the wife of a prisoner; visiting Zaid in prison, running their business, keeping her mother-in-law happy and going to her dance class, the only place she can truly be herself. A big hit in the Arab world this shows the realities of life in Palestine for a free-spirited woman who refuses to be defined by them.
Ffilm bwerus am gariad dwys sy’n sigo popeth wedi’i lleoli yn Israel, lle mae gwrthdaro’n rhywbeth arferol a dyddiol. Mae Kamar newydd briodi ac mae ei byd wedi’i droi wyneb i waered pan fo’i gŵr, Zaid, yn cael ei daflu i’r carchar. Mae hi’n cychwyn ar wersi dawnsio ond mae’n cwrdd â Kais sy’n ddawnsiwr enwog, fydd ei bywyd hi fyth yr un fath.
