A charming, amusing look at modern day Cuba through the eyes of two young children, Malu and Jorgito who travel the length of the island determined to find Malu’s father. Malu’s mum is a religious snob who forbids her from playing with Jorgito, the son of poor but proud socialists. Jorgito’s infuriated mother reciprocates in kind, but neither parent realizes the immense strength of the bond between the two. This makes great use of Cuba’s gorgeous scenery and elicits winning performances from the two kids whose spontaneous rapport transcends family, social and political differences as they discover the many delights of the island on their quest.

Director Juan Carlos Cremata will be present for a Q&A after the screening in Aberystwyth that will be simultaneously skyped to Chapter and Clwyd Theatr Cymru so that the audience in Cardiff can also take part.

Golwg cyfareddol, doniol ar Giwba’r oes fodern trwy lygaid dau blentyn ifanc, Malu a Jorgito sy’n teithio ar hyd yr ynys yn benderfynol o ddod o hyd i dad Malu. Mae mam Malu yn snoben grefyddol sy’n gwahardd ei merch rhag chwarae gyda Jorgito, mab i sosialwyr tlawd ond balch. Mae mam gynddeiriog Jorgito yn ymateb yn yr un modd ond nid yw’r mamau yn gwerthfawrogi cryfder dwys y perthynas rhwng y ddau. Mae’r ffilm hon yn gwneud defnydd gwych o olygfeydd hyfryd Ciwba ac yn cyflwyno perfformiadau hyfryd gan ddau blentyn sydd â pherthynas ddigymell sy’n codi’n uwch na gwahaniaethau teuluol, cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol wrth iddynt ddarganfod holl bleserau’r ynys yn ystod eu hymgyrch.
